A Simple But Effective Plan To Lose Weight After 40, 50 and Above

Wanting to get in shape is an admirable goal, although it is not easy to reach if you are not 100 percent on board. Failure may be your result if you jump into your attempt without knowing what is required or without the proper support system in place. Follow the tips below to add a bit of flare, fun and appeal to your workout routines.

Turn on the radio while you are working out. The rhythm of the music gets your body moving naturally. This is a natural response that everyone shares. Turn your workout into something fun and exciting with music. When you are having fun working out, you won’t concentrate on how tired you may feel. When you need to push yourself just a little bit more while exercising, using music can help you keep going while having fun.

When you are about to exercise you should take a friend or two along. Make exercise a social event and everyone will have fun! Twice the people make time spent exercising go twice as quickly. Working out with friends helps you forget how fatigued you may feel by keeping your mind focused on conversing instead. When you are working out with a friend, it can be very fun.

Go shopping for a video workout game. Fitness games are an easy way for you to add variety to your workout regimen. These games tend to have built in reward systems that will help motivate you and distract you from the effort of playing. You will be surprised by the extra time you are willing to spend exercising when you are not concentrating on how exhausted you are.

Get pumped to workout by investing in a special wardrobe. Invest in a workout wardrobe that you feel confident wearing. Fitness gear can be very fashionable and flattering. Choose something simple or something flashy. Don’t be afraid to get creative with bold colors and fresh designs. The creativity you bring to your attire will transfer over into your workout program too. Be outrageous and unique. It’s important for you to pick out a variety of outfits that will keep your motivation high for going to the gym or taking a run. Stay within your budget and make sure those clothes don’t just sit in your closet!

If you do the same exercises over and over you will most likely get tired of them. If your habitual exercise routine has become boring, it is likely to lead to neglect rather than success. Always incorporate new and exciting exercises into your routine. When you keep your interest high in exercising, you will remain motivated. If exercise becomes something that you dread, it is likely you will lose interest and quit. If you let yourself quit once, it is that much more difficult to get motivated again.

A reward is a great way to keep yourself motivated to reach your fitness goals. You need to make your reward something that makes you want to keep on track. You can try a nice dinner out, or maybe even get yourself a massage at a spa. The rewards don’t need to be pricey or extravagant. A small reward can motivate you to continue your excellent progress!

Exercising does not have to be a drag. Look for ways to make your exercise routine so much fun that you look forward to doing it. Use the ideas in this article to make your fitness routine more fun.

  1. Thank you Adriene to remind us all the true essence of yoga. I started the session with the intension on working superficially on body part's but you gently reminded me why I do yoga… To connect my mind-body-soul, to show self-love and to gain energy. XO

I have been told by my physio that I need to strengthen my core and glutes. This routine has so far been perfect for me. I do it at least once a week along with my regular exercise routines.

  10. I've been following your videos for just about 3 months and i feel so much better. I do 10-30 mins every day. I've lost weight and the tyranny of food cravings have all but gone. I love the way you continually remind us to focus, connect with the earth, spread hands. I'm an older guy and this is the 2nd time I have taken Yoga seriously. Thanks. Note.. I'm not super crazy about the newer overdubbed ones but I get it. The others probably take a lot more time to produce and… because my old ass can't keep up! Thanks so much.

  11. August – Day 2 – check! Love this practice!

  12. i was wanting a quick afternoon yoga practice, but had to stop this particular video. i understand this is used as purely fitness, but selectively using spiritual hindu words as names of positions was taking me away from what you are doing. those words are more than fitness terms. they are sacred and special and this particular practice is more geared away from the spiritual. I'm glad it helps anyone that enjoys it.

  13. of course I love your classes, but wondering what the color of your walls are? Right now, I am an artistic color explosion but looking to neutralize my walls. The color of your walls is so calming. or maybe it's your voice πŸ˜‰

  14. My third session in 4 days. I think I'm hooked! Great way to start a Monday. Thank you Adriene!!!
