Weigh In 7

feet-on-scaleAnother new week and another weigh in.

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 244 pounds
CW: 242 pounds

I am very happy to have once again lost the weight I gained for last week’s weigh-in. I’m not sure what to say beyond that. Haha.

As I posted before, the check in appointment went well and I’m feeling good about things. Last week, before the appointment, was a bit tough for keeping up with the diet and drinking water. The amount of stress I was dealing with felt like it was skyrocketing, and I wasn’t handling it very well.

Thankfully, I have a very patient, calming husband who was willing to help me out so I didn’t feel so overwhelmed by everything. He’s a great guy. I don’t know what I would do without him.

Having lost the weight I gained in the last weigh-in, I have, once again, reached my first weight loss goal, which is losing five percent of my body weight. I’ve reached this goal before a few times, though, so I’m not quite ready to celebrate.

Originally, my next goal was to hit the 100 kilos mark (about 220 pounds), but I realized there is another goal I have been shooting for all along, and that comes first: Breaking into the 230s.

Since coming to Australia, my lowest weight has been 242 or 240, so I set the goal of getting into the 230s without even knowing it. I’ve thought about it more now, though, and I’ve decided on 234 as my next goal – well and truly into the 230s. I’m very excited about making it there.

How is everyone else doing?

Weigh In 6

feet-on-scaleAnother Monday means another weigh in, hm? I’ll get right to the numbers.

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 242 pounds
CW: 244 pounds

A two pound gain. Could be better, could be worse, but I’m not complaining and I’m trying not to let it get to me. I have been having a hard time dealing with all the stress lately. I’m not sure what tipped the scale over – no TOM (now a week late), work load, becoming very emotionally sensitive, other physical things – but the scale officially tipped last week and a gain is evidence of that.

I stuck to the diet, but I could have done better. I drank water every day, but I could have done better. I tried to eat on schedule, but I could have done better. I didn’t binge, but when it came to portion control, I could have done better.

Don’t worry; this isn’t me beating myself up. I promise. This is me looking at what I can improve.

Today marks the last full week of the restricted diet and I am proud of how much I have changed and given up in the name of my health. I’m hoping the naturopath will be happy with my results and will have whatever it is I need in addition so my body can start functioning completely normally again.

I’m thinking about doing something special on Friday to mark having done all this, but I’m not sure what to do…

Weigh In 5

feet-on-scaleHello everyone! It’s that time again… I don’t quite get to use the next celebration pic yet, but I reckon I’ll stay with this one until I get to switch over.

I feel like I should be assuring you that my scale is working and that I’m not lying. (I swear I’m not!) I’m honestly a big gobsmacked over my results since August. After trying for so long, it’s a bit ‘this is too good to be true’ to have something that is working so well. But there it is…

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 246 pounds ~ 111.5 kilos
CW: 242 pounds ~ 109.8 kilos

Woohoo! What more can I say? This is the lowest weight I have been at since coming to Australia. It’s a goal I have achieved once before, though, so I’m very eager to break into the 230s.

For anyone who is new here, I haven’t been on any named diet or anything like that. What I did was go and get food sensitivity/allergy testing. Based on the results of that, I was put on a restricted diet for six weeks (39 days to be precise). On September 12th, I’m going to go back and get tested again to see how much things have changed.

I’m not sure if my current diet will have to keep on for another six weeks or if I’ll change things up based on the results. I can’t wait to find out, though.

Besides that, I’m eating at least every three hours (more like every two and a half to make the timing work better). Plus I’m drinking at least 1.5 litres of water a day. It seems like a lot, but it certainly seems to be doing the job!

But… I know the water is great and is helping me lose weight, but man! I thought I would have to stop peeing so much after a few days of my body getting used to it. Guess what? I was wrong! Eesh. Still operating on what seems to be, at times, a very tiny bladder.

TOM is due to start today (I think – not sure if I’m a 28 day woman), so we’ll see if the weight loss makes things easier. Hopefully it will, but by the way my lower back has been aching, it probably won’t…

Oh well! Not complaining. :) Not today.

Weigh In 4

feet-on-scaleWoohoo! I get to use the 10 pounds down badge! I’m finally getting really excited about all this. :)

And because of that, it’s pretty obvious what my numbers are…

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos
CW: 246 pounds ~ 111.5 kilos

Since I started this restricted diet from the naturopath, I have been a bit skeptical about whether I would really get results or not. I’ve been on enough diets in the past and completely switched my eating habits so much to no avail that even the initial loss wasn’t enough for me to get truly excited about this diet.

Now that I’ve lost ten pounds (it’s hard to believe) and have a couple weeks yet before my next appointment, I’m finally feeling like this can really work for me – even in the long term.

Heck, by the time October (and the writing conference I’m going to) comes around, I could be in territory I haven’t been in for years: the 230s.

Even with the good results so far, I’m trying not to set too big of goals for myself. As long as I’m in the right range on my spreadsheet (click here if you don’t know what I’m talking about), I’ll be happy. I would be thrilled to be at 240 or lower by the time I go to the writer’s conference, though.

One thing I should mention is I have been drinking HEAPS of water. While I’m still not keen on the needing the bathroom more often, it’s worth it. I’m still having a bit of trouble with acne and stuff, but I have no doubt it would be much worse without the water.

How is everyone else doing? I’d love to hear from you!

Weigh In 3

feet-on-scaleI’m baaaaaack. I’ve been slacking a bit lately with my posting all over the place and I apologize for that. I haven’t been slacking (much) with my diet, etc. I just needed a bit of time off and away from the computer so I could de-stress and ground myself a bit. I’m feeling much better now, though, and I’m ready for action.

So I suppose I’d better get right to the weigh in, hm?

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos
CW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos

Well, no change this week, but I’m actually quite okay with that. I’ve had a few hiccups figuring out portion sizes (the man and I tend to make a big pot of whatever and then just have leftovers for a while) and I know I could have done much better about drinking the amount of water I’m supposed to be drinking each day.

I’m hoping that by sticking to appropriate portions more and by shooting for the top end of how much water I’m supposed to drink per day, I’ll see a loss next week.

The unfortunate part about this restricted diet is it’s helping work out a lot of the crappy things in my system. Why is that bad? Because I have to make sure I brush my teeth more, keep extra clean, etc, because when the body gets rid of toxins, you basically are more inclined to smell.

Because of that I’m also having a bit of trouble with acne as well, but I finally found some face wash that doesn’t have sulfur (one of the things I’m not supposed to have) stuff in it. (Try finding soaps, etc, that don’t have sulfate or the like in them. It’s a bit difficult.)

So that’s my game plan for the week with exercise thrown in there as well. Crossing my fingers and working hard for a loss next week.
