I am plus size and a true beginner in yoga. I love share my raw journey to fit. It was born out of my frustration of seeing just the highlight reels or the “after” of the process and not the struggle. In this video you will see how I modify triangle, a warrior option, the figure 4, and goddess squat as I learn to listen to my body and build in my ability through my practice.

I am not alone in this journey as I have a group of plus size women in my support group and we are on this path, as beginner yogis, and all plus size.

This is YOUR journey! I share mine in hopes to inspire others not to quit and to learn that this is a journey to fit. All of this was born out of my personal frustration over 3 years ago when I couldn’t find another body that looked like mine in motion at over 350 lbs. People were only sharing their before and their after. The best of their journey, not the struggles. I started sharing what I found was lacking. I wanted to know what it looked like, sounded like, and felt like. This is for beginners or others that struggle on how to apply the vast knowledge available to use in health and fitness to our bodies. To break through what held us back. A Easy But Effective Program To Lose Fat After 40, 50 ,60

When you are losing weight you should always include a weight loss regime. However, if you lack the motivation to stick to your exercise routine, you’re likely to falter and eventually stop working out completely. Exercise can be interesting, fun, and something that you are drawn to. You need only look in the right places. The following advice will help you with this.

Music is a key motivator when working out. Your body naturally moves to the music. Once your body begins to move, it will continue to move, and you will continue to dance without realizing how long you have been at it! Dancing takes the tedium out working out because it’s fun to do.

Ask family and friends if they are interested in working out with you. Chart your progress together and enjoy each other’s support. You do not even realize how quickly time flies when you are working out with a friend. Losing track of what you are doing will make your workout go more quickly.

Workout videos can provide the solid distraction that you need to relieve the boredom of the same old exercise routine. Have a wide array of videos so that you can do a number of different workouts. The visual images merge with the music to help you ignore any minor discomforts and keep you going longer.

Buy workout clothes you love, so you’ll look forward to hitting the gym. You should buy exercise clothes that make you feel good when you wear them! Whether you’re looking for jogging pants, tank tops or sports bras, you can find workout clothes in a wide variety of sizes, colors and styles. There are clothes to accentuate your figure and clothes that are just plain comfortable. Show off your unique style! Take risks! It’s important for you to pick out a variety of outfits that will keep your motivation high for going to the gym or taking a run. Stay within your budget and make sure those clothes don’t just sit in your closet!

It’s hard not to be bored when you’re doing the same old routine every day. Boredom is one of the greatest challenges you’ll face. If you change your exercise routine frequently, you will enjoy the time more. The only way to keep motivated is by staying interested, so change things up every now and then. Losing interest in your workout routine, is bound to lead to thoughts of quitting. If you do quit, however, you aren’t as motivated to start again.

In order to make sure you stay motivated, you should treat yourself on occasion. It doesn’t matter what your reward is. As long as it’s something that you love and will keep your motivation high, it is a good one. There is no need to spend a lot of money on something fancy. Even a tiny reminder of how well you are doing can really boost your motivation to continue!

Your workout doesn’t have to be monotonous. It’s not impossible to enjoy working out. This article has some tips that will help you make your exercise plan entertaining.

    I had a hysterectomy about 5ish years ago. The day of surgery I was about 130 pounds (still overweight for a woman of short stature). I gained a lot of weight pretty rapidly afterward. Lost some. And now its back full force. I have to be careful about my bladder as it wasn't pinned up. That said, I'm getting so large it hurts. My clothes hurt. I huff just walking a block. I sweat constantly. I'm super tired all the time. I'm scared to do anything to hurt my bladder. I really want to do yoga to lose weight and feel better. Can you address (demo) exercises that don't push the bladder downward?

  12. I am so glad I found your vlog! My body shape is very similar to yours. I have been doing restorative yoga for the last three weeks. Thank goodness for bolsters and blocks. I am also finding ways to modify because I really do love yoga but had gotten away from it because the instructors I encountered cannot really relate to a curvy girl trying to be more flexible. I look forward to watching more of your videos!

Every so called "modification" video, so far, has been merely an "extension" of plank, which my lower back won't allow ~ until now. You are a blessing for me.
