Too often, people are passive about their fitness goals. Perhaps they do not have the necessary motivation, or do not know where to start. The perfect way to get started is with things you find fun. These methods will help you accomplish this.


Music can help to keep you motivated. Your body naturally moves to the music. As the Law of Inertia states, once in motion, objects continue in motion until exterior forces are present. Start dancing and you will not be able to stop! Working out through dance gives you the opportunity to gain additional exercise time that does not feel like drudgery.


Invite a group of friends to exercise with you. Socializing is a great way for you to use your time while working out. If you start a conversation with a buddy it will be easy to forget that you are working out. You can be distracted by having a conversation. Having friends to work out with is more fun than you can imagine.


A great way to break the monotony of a boring workout is to pop in a workout DVD. Have different workouts available so you don’t get bored. Music can help to distract you from the physical soreness or other physical maladies you might otherwise focus on.


Shop for some fun exercise clothes to really get yourself into the spirit of things. Choose clothes that you know you will feel good about wearing. You can find a large variety of workout clothes. They can make your body look great, and be a total blast to wear. Express your inner creativity! Make it like an adventure. You should ensure you have a wide variety of workout clothes that will give you extra motivation to exercise.


Don’t find yourself falling into the same old work out routine day after day. If you become bored or you don’t see the exercise as being fun any more, then you will be more prone to quit. Mixing things up will help you maintain your enthusiasm. Have multiple music options or learn a completely new routine. Look for new and interesting workouts all the time.


Give yourself a reward whenever you reach an exercise goal. No matter what the size of the goal, a reward is deserved when you accomplish what you set out to do. It’s a major achievement! Reward yourself with something meaningful to you. An example could be a long telephone chat with an old friend or a luxurious massage at the spa. Maybe buy a new outfit to show off your improved body. Sticking to a goal is easier if you give yourself a reward every time you reach a goal.


People never feel bad after exercising, right? The toughest part is to get yourself up and to the gym and to realize that exercising is not a chore but can, in fact, be pretty fun. Look for ways to make your exercise routine so much fun that you look forward to doing it. Apply this advice to make your workout routine more fun.

  6. I'm almost seventy and had got very unfit. Been watching this every other day for two weeks now. Today I upped my dumbbell weight to5k from 1k. Didn't have any in between but it was good. Today I sweated.

When I do squats, it seems like I'm not really working my butt, the soreness a day after comes from my quadriceps instead |: How can I make sure that I'm using my ass muscles? (I do squeeze my glutes, maybe I'm still doing it wrong somehow?) Thanks!
