21 Day Sugar Smackdown – Could you do it?

I’m thinking about doing this when I get back from my trip (the 20th, I think).

I think she’s seriously misguided… Of course we should avoid sugar and sugar products, including syrups, but avoiding fruit is just looking for trouble. There is no benefit to be gained from that. Fruit regulates blood sugar levels, contains loads of vitamins, fiber and phytonutrients. It is a known fact that people who eliminate sugar and sugar products, but eat plenty of fruit will be weaned from a sugar addiction.

That was a sticking point for me, too. I get why she is doing it – way too many people are addicted so much that ‘addicted’ doesn’t seem to describe it – but cutting fruit isn’t that great a move. I imagine, though, it’s to go cold turkey on the taste of sweet to get that out of your system.
