Checking In – Back on Track

Phew!

I can’t tell you how good I feel about being back on track. After hitting 226 (and higher midweek), I was finally forced to examine some of the emotional issues I was having that was causing me to overeat. I didn’t ‘fall off the wagon’ in my usual sense – I ate good things, just too much.

Just paying attention to myself and how I have been feeling has done wonders. I’m feeling back to normal and, since ditching all the extras (meds and vitamins), my headaches have virtually disappeared.

This past weekend, my husband and I finally got down to the herb farm. We bought some sage tea for his general good health, some marjoram for some of my health issues and some stevia to try as an alternative sweetner (more on that later).

I feel glad that I am taking a more definitive step in controlling my health. I never thought I would become a tea-drinking, veggie loving, hiking enthusiast, half-vegan. But you know what? I feel great about it. I feel wonderful about researching alternative medicines, shifting my focus to healthier eating…

I never thought my husband and I would be going out for walks nearly every night after he comes home from work, but I just pushed us to do it one night a couple weeks ago, and it stuck!

Now I just need to focus on my mental health and I’ll be where I want to be before I know it…
