Weigh In 10

feet-on-scaleI’m back! …and I’m considering moving my weigh-in date to Tuesdays because it always gets buried beneath the Monday Mailbag post. Then again, I could just post the weigh in on top… Meh.

I’m back! Haha. And I have weighed in, despite considering not doing so (post-vacation weigh-ins are not fun). But alas, avoiding it isn’t going to make it going away…

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 241 pounds (Last weigh in on September 29th)
CW: 246 pounds

As we say in Oz, ‘not happy Jan’. Five pounds gained does not make me happy, but I’m not going to punish myself over it.

1. I’m probably still retaining water because of the trip.
2. It could be worse.
3. I was able to enjoy myself on the trip, which means a lot to me.
4. I didn’t get the chance to drink as much water as I should have and I didn’t get time for regular scheduled eating, so five pounds isn’t that bad.
5. I was away for over a week! Five pounds from being on the road isn’t so bad.

So overall, I’m disappointed that I gained, but I’m not beating myself over the head about it. I’ve lost it before and I can lose it again. I’m drinking heaps of water and eating healthy once again, so I have no doubts I can get back to where I was by the end of the month. (Crossing fingers that most of the weight is water retention.)

I’m very excited about next weekend as well because we should be able to buy our elliptical machine. Not only will I have an exercise machine I’ve fallen in love with, I’ll be getting exercise by cleaning out the spare room. Ha!

Good things ahead!

How are you going?

Break From Weighing In

feet-on-scaleI’m still at a writer’s conference/on holiday today, so I’m not planning on weighing in. If I remembered to bring along my scale and have internet access today, I’ll log in and change this post to my results.

But I doubt that’s going to happen, to be honest! Who wants to weigh in while on vacation?

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay tuned for this week’s Monday Mailbag.

Now, for your laughing pleasure…

Weigh In 9

feet-on-scaleThis is my last weigh in before the big trip! I’m still a bit nervous about it, but I’m feeling better in general.

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 241 pounds
CW: 241 pounds

No change since last week, but that’s okay with me.

It feels a bit weird saying that, but I’ve been a bit under the weather lately with a couple things (nothing bad) and I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with drinking enough water and eating by a schedule. I’m doing much better with both and am prepared for (as much as I can be) eating while on holiday.

I have recently made some changes like cutting my hair (a nice, light, summery cut) and buying a couple new tops, so I am feeling better than ever about losing weight and getting fit. I know I’m still at the sabotage point, but I’m no longer psyching myself out about gaining. What will happen, will happen, but in the end I will be at the weight I want to be at.

My husband is being as supportive as ever, and I think even he has been pleasantly surprised by my change in attitude lately. Maybe it’s the hair cut, maybe it’s the new clothes, or maybe it’s just the fact I feel good and confident this time.

All I know is that I’m ready to move on to the next step. Get to the next goal. To lose enough weight to be able to find a nice, cute summer dress that I can fit into with no problems.

How are you doing?

Weigh In 8

feet-on-scaleAaaaaaaand we’re back for another weigh-in…

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 242 pounds
CW: 241 pounds

I usually only go by even pounds because I don’t have a digital scale, but my scale was playing funny buggers with me and decided it didn’t want to go firmly on 240 or 242. So I’m going to have a Finally Getting Fit first and going for the odd number (and taking the 15 pounds gone badge as well).

This is probably going to sound weird and probably just stems from my recent troubles, but I feel like I’m going to gain before I get into the 230s. I know that’s not the right way to think, but I can’t help myself.

I’ve somehow managed to catch a bug that has completely zapped all my energy, so exercise and whatnot isn’t exactly at an all time high. Pair that with next Monday being the last weigh in before I’m gone for over a week and you have a nervous JM.

I’m certainly not going to lose control on vacation, and I’ve even bought some muesli bars (don’t worry – no added sugar or fruit and it’s low in calories as well) for keeping my blood sugar steady on the road, but I’m nervous. Maybe it’s just the 230s border thing…

Anywho, I hope this bug leaves me soon and I snap out of this funk because I have a lot to do! I’m getting a new haircut this weekend (I’ll put up pics if you ask nicely, hehe) as well as doing other fun stuff to prepare for the trip.

I hope everyone else is having a good weigh in, good week, and good day.

Weigh In 7

feet-on-scaleAnother new week and another weigh in.

SW: 256 pounds
LW: 244 pounds
CW: 242 pounds

I am very happy to have once again lost the weight I gained for last week’s weigh-in. I’m not sure what to say beyond that. Haha.

As I posted before, the check in appointment went well and I’m feeling good about things. Last week, before the appointment, was a bit tough for keeping up with the diet and drinking water. The amount of stress I was dealing with felt like it was skyrocketing, and I wasn’t handling it very well.

Thankfully, I have a very patient, calming husband who was willing to help me out so I didn’t feel so overwhelmed by everything. He’s a great guy. I don’t know what I would do without him.

Having lost the weight I gained in the last weigh-in, I have, once again, reached my first weight loss goal, which is losing five percent of my body weight. I’ve reached this goal before a few times, though, so I’m not quite ready to celebrate.

Originally, my next goal was to hit the 100 kilos mark (about 220 pounds), but I realized there is another goal I have been shooting for all along, and that comes first: Breaking into the 230s.

Since coming to Australia, my lowest weight has been 242 or 240, so I set the goal of getting into the 230s without even knowing it. I’ve thought about it more now, though, and I’ve decided on 234 as my next goal – well and truly into the 230s. I’m very excited about making it there.

How is everyone else doing?
