Weigh In 4

feet-on-scaleWoohoo! I get to use the 10 pounds down badge! I’m finally getting really excited about all this. :)

And because of that, it’s pretty obvious what my numbers are…

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos
CW: 246 pounds ~ 111.5 kilos

Since I started this restricted diet from the naturopath, I have been a bit skeptical about whether I would really get results or not. I’ve been on enough diets in the past and completely switched my eating habits so much to no avail that even the initial loss wasn’t enough for me to get truly excited about this diet.

Now that I’ve lost ten pounds (it’s hard to believe) and have a couple weeks yet before my next appointment, I’m finally feeling like this can really work for me – even in the long term.

Heck, by the time October (and the writing conference I’m going to) comes around, I could be in territory I haven’t been in for years: the 230s.

Even with the good results so far, I’m trying not to set too big of goals for myself. As long as I’m in the right range on my spreadsheet (click here if you don’t know what I’m talking about), I’ll be happy. I would be thrilled to be at 240 or lower by the time I go to the writer’s conference, though.

One thing I should mention is I have been drinking HEAPS of water. While I’m still not keen on the needing the bathroom more often, it’s worth it. I’m still having a bit of trouble with acne and stuff, but I have no doubt it would be much worse without the water.

How is everyone else doing? I’d love to hear from you!

Weigh In 3

feet-on-scaleI’m baaaaaack. I’ve been slacking a bit lately with my posting all over the place and I apologize for that. I haven’t been slacking (much) with my diet, etc. I just needed a bit of time off and away from the computer so I could de-stress and ground myself a bit. I’m feeling much better now, though, and I’m ready for action.

So I suppose I’d better get right to the weigh in, hm?

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos
CW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos

Well, no change this week, but I’m actually quite okay with that. I’ve had a few hiccups figuring out portion sizes (the man and I tend to make a big pot of whatever and then just have leftovers for a while) and I know I could have done much better about drinking the amount of water I’m supposed to be drinking each day.

I’m hoping that by sticking to appropriate portions more and by shooting for the top end of how much water I’m supposed to drink per day, I’ll see a loss next week.

The unfortunate part about this restricted diet is it’s helping work out a lot of the crappy things in my system. Why is that bad? Because I have to make sure I brush my teeth more, keep extra clean, etc, because when the body gets rid of toxins, you basically are more inclined to smell.

Because of that I’m also having a bit of trouble with acne as well, but I finally found some face wash that doesn’t have sulfur (one of the things I’m not supposed to have) stuff in it. (Try finding soaps, etc, that don’t have sulfate or the like in them. It’s a bit difficult.)

So that’s my game plan for the week with exercise thrown in there as well. Crossing my fingers and working hard for a loss next week.

Weigh In 2

feet-on-scaleDo you know how hard it is to resist temptation and not go all out on your birthday? I do.

Haha. Actually, I had a great birthday despite diet restrictions and I don’t feel at a loss whatsoever for not having cake or other goodies. I even had a little fun with dinner last night and made a pretty yummy dish, if I do say so myself.

I’m feeling pretty good about things so far. After a week, I’ve noticed changes in my skin (especially the acne troubles with my face) as well as my body. I have yet to have a ‘feel fat’ day despite TOM starting on the day I started the diet.

It’s with TOM that I take the loss from last week to this week with a grain of salt. I always add a couple pounds then, so having it well and truly done this week adds to what I had lost naturally anyway.

Without further ado, here are my current numbers*:

SW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
LW: 256 pounds ~ 116 kilos
CW: 250 pounds ~ 113 kilos

Six pounds down. Now who wouldn’t be happy with that? My body tends to like to take a big drop followed by steady smaller drops, so I’m certainly not expecting these kind of results every week. I am very glad, though, to have such an awesome start to my weight loss.

I have a writer’s conference in October that I would absolutely love to look ten or more pounds lighter than I did last year for, so fingers crossed for that. As soon as I get my head on a bit straighter, I’ll be making actual goals and stuff like that.

I hope you all are getting the results you want in your fitness journey. Let me know how you’re doing in the comments.

Weigh In 1 – New Diet New Day

feet-on-scaleWell, today is the day I start implementing the things the naturopath has told me that I need to do for the next six weeks. (Until September 12.) While things have been a bit confusing and hard (already) while trying to get everything figured out, my husband keeps reminding me to stick with the “I only have to do this for…” mentality.

As he says, “You can do anything for an unlimited amount of time as long as you know it’s going to end.”

So today is day 39 and my first weigh in. I have to weigh in every week and then bring the figures back in to the appointment in September. So I figured why not put in a new ticker? I’m keeping the actual figures in a notebook.

Whee! I do love the cute little tickers. I’ll admit it.

So far (at 3pm my time) things have gone pretty well. I did get a little upset while I was grocery shopping, but I again reminded myself about what my husband said and started to think creatively about how to create meals. Lo and behold, I created something pretty darn nice for lunch. (Now I just have to worry about dinner when the man will be eating as well.)

If this post sounds a bit here and there with things, that’s pretty much what my mind is like today. I have tons of stuff to do and I’m trying to remember it all so forgive me if I’m a bit scatterbrained.

Anywho, I’ll be posting more about my various food adventures today, that’s for sure.
